Please sign this petition to support fathers rights in the UK.
This petition has been started by a british MP and it supports the need for a change in family law so that fathers are given parenting rights after separation or divorce.
Under current UK law, fathers are in many cases left without access to their children when the mother denies contact or uses parental alienation to form a rift between the father and their child.

Emily took my son away from me because i moved on and met someone new and we gave him everything he wanted, she found every reason to keep him from me, I offered money even said i would leave my entire family if that is what it took, yet she was mind set on ruining me i took legal action within him been 8 days old since then i have been fighting courts, She is scared because she knows i won’t ever give in i will take it until i physically can not take it anymore Hes 2 in march 2014 and i feel like i have missed so much already. I don’t smoke, drink or anything i work 70+ hours a week as a manager yet she still brands me “bad”. I am now having a child with my new girlfriend (great news) but am s*** scared about morgan thinking i won’t want him. The whole pregnancy i kept distant and just worked as i don’t feel like i can emotionally put myself to someone else like a child again incase the same happens with my new girlfriend. I have given my life to been a good person and tried my hardest to be a perfect role model for my son but have it thrown back at me by the law not giving me equal rights as the mother. I would kill to have the laws changed to help fathers but it will never happen the government obviously doesn’t care about its tax payers. Courts should look at the emotional damage this does to people i haven’t been the same since she took him from me.

I am a Father who has now not seen my 13 year old Son Jack for nearly 6 Years! I fought my ex-wife in court for 2 years, doing everything The Courts asked of me which drained me enormously Financially and Especially Emotionally! During the court case In 2005/6 My ex-wife turned my son against me and she claimed he doesn’t want to ever see me again, also telling Me he is Happy with is NEW DADDY! The court gave me an Indirect Contact Order, telling me i could go back to court again anytime i wanted to, to gain access, costing me more money and More Emotional Stress! In the meantime She gets Legal Aid! Since The Court Case and The Loss of My Son in My Life i have had a Breakdown and tried to commit suicide twice. I am now in a much better place, living with the hope that when My Son is old enough to have his own views he will try to re-Establish contact with Me, His Father. The Law MUST be changed so BOTH Parents have Equal Rights.

i myself have ben throught hell and back in these no more than free maison courts.Im still waiting for s s reports 2years latter wich a judje demanded. during this time my one child was beten up by two adults police we called i was told by s w police thats ok and s s.then the oldest was left by his mother and the school s s to burgal the comunity . the punish ment was no exames six months in prison . my take on the courts system is their would ratter let a child go to prison than give axsses to the father . the reason for this is the mother is a health profesional and has influences. the question is can you beat a child on his birthday if your not his mother or father answer s wales police s s yes ,can you leave a child with a unrejistord child minder for 4 years s wales police yes . ther are many other points to my case which if fathers for you got behined myseif im sure we could get a public inquire . thanks

CSA have just got back to me. With a calculation on how much childmaintainance i am expected to pay. And I’ve just done the budgetting. I’m in a pretty stready away job working 5 to 7 days a week for a good rate of pay but guess what.
First rent cuts my wage in half. The tax man gets more money than me. My expartner/kids get more money than me. The bbc(tv licence) gets more money than me. The water board get more money than me. Ryedale council (council tax)get more money than me. I have to get to work by train so the train company get more money than me. EON electric and gas get more money than me. I work in the job center as it happens and all the bagheads, scrotes and undesirables who come into the jobcenter are getting more money than me ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? There is no help and advice for me and there is nothing I can do about it. And if I leave my job I would not be entitled to benefits for six months. I am working for nothing at all . Checkmate. Its fair to say I have considered laying my head on the railway track. But I just can’t break my my kids hearts now can I ?

how does a stranger value a fathers love? how does he feel when the father is totally innocent and given 4 hours access once every 2 weeks and doesnt get it..OVER FIVE YEARS OF IN AND OUT OF COURT? how does the stranger assess the fathers safety and mental health when virtually over night his little children are gone and there is no one even to HELP in the wrong, badness, and INHUMAN way this government so keenly help criminals, child molesters, and just about evey scum there is? i want to die,i wish i was dead, every bit of me has gone and i rely on medication because of the INJUSTICE and sick kick this stranger MUST get..if i have a chance before i die, i will see the one responsible for playing god over who is and who isnt a father and i will kill him.

my daughter was taken from me in 2008 the caffcass officer and teachers of the local school where my daughter attended were all behind me infact i had a very good case. the problem was i had a very bad choice in solicitor who in effect told me not to bother because “the mother always wins”….to the point of not even showing up in court for the final hearing. as of the final hearing it was a complete farce. my ex wife and her new husband made ridiculous statments about me and made promises in court to the judge that they would make arrangements for me to see my daughter regularly at weekends and holidays etc. then they moved to scotland over 350 miles away, and surprise, they do not make any effort to stick to the court rulings that were set, even to the point of not allowing my daughter to come to my wedding which she was a brides maid. they are both on benefits and now my daughter has told me that her mom cant bring her to the arranged meeting place made by the courts because they are too poor. even tho ive always payed matainence since the day she left me. i have just payed a solicitor a massive fee only to be told that because they have moved to scotland they cannot do anything and for me and to start proceedings again there…i just cannot afford it. the family justice system does not work it has no way of policing what rules have been set allowing women to freely destroy relationships when they feel like it. the sad fact is the best advice i have had came from a man in the pub.. who had been through this all before …..he said bide you time there are alot of people that will make money from your situation. the best thing that all fathers can do is keep in contact with your kids talk to them whenever you can, because when they are older more likely than not they will find you, and you can always hold your head high and say you’ve done your best. i do believe this and ive seen the evidence for myself, there will always be a bond, the only person that can break it, is yourself by not staying in contact. i hope this works for me and all other fathers out there…because the family court system certainly will not. for the children and for yourselves do not give in.

I have just read the post that John Russell has written and it is just like reading about what my son is going through at the moment , the only difference is that my son’s ex-partner isn’t a WPC. My son has been driven to suicide because she has been making false accusation against him and she is being believed. It is a year since my son has seen his son and a year since we last saw our grandson. My son saw his son with his ex-partners father . My son waved to his son but his son didn’t recognise him because he is now only 2 years old. This has broken my sons heart. We are all going through hell at the moment.

I am a father of a two year old little boy who lives in Putney London but I am from Swindon in Wiltshire which is a fabulous place I might add. I had a relationship with a woman who lives in Putney and as soon as our child was born she ended the relationship and now I have to drive to Putney every Saturday to see my son which is 80 miles from Swindon and his mother only lets me see him for the duration of three hours and my son cries when I go home.
I have noe issued a court order and this cruel mean despicable rule of hers will soon come to an end. So there you are fathers you know what to do dont you!
Just do it and stop waisting time a child has a right to know both his parents and at the end of the day two parents are better than one

As a father who is prevented from seeing his daughter, (although I already have parental rights) since I split up with my ex due to relationship problems as a result of her constant mood swings and constantly looking for arguments in May, 2010, I find it absolutely disgusting and intolerable that I have to jump through hoops, to have access to the child and face the prospect of tremendous costs to take her to court, which one is prevented from doing, due to having a mortgage and stretched to the hilt, as I already pay regular maintenance through the CSA. When I mentioned this at the time to the CSA and advised I was prevented from access to the child they contacted her, which had the adverse affect of creating friction and stirring things up. She contacted me at work and left a message with a work colleague to the affect that, “If I wished to see my child I would need to sue her throughout every court in the land.” How diabolical! My ex is a W.P.C., who quite frankly is not fit to wear the uniform. When will the Government of either party see commonsense and introduce a system that is fair to all especially the child, who needs their blood father. The current system is a total mess and a shambles creating bad feeling and spitefulness. My ex as a W.P.C. earns considerably more than me and the money I pay for maintenance, in my opinion, does not go to my daughter, but to the grandmother to supplememt her pension, as there is no obligation under the current legal system to prove where the money is spent. Although I believe in supporting my child as the father there is a fairer way to implement this system, which should be means tested and not used by the parent with care as a revenge mechanism, which quite clearly is the case at the moment. The statement from her own lips indicated and supported this, which was “I will CSA you to the hilt.”

I think it is an absolute shame that the two previous posts sum up what this country has come to due to an inept system that dictates parental rights. An outdated law crazily reviewed by some hoity toity do gooder who is in my opinion clearly out of touch with todays society based on the ‘findings’ of his report. I am fortunate enough to see my daughter from a previous relationship as both my ex partner and I are reasonable people and understand it is in the best interests of our child. As a result, she is one of the happiest kids anybody would ever meet! My brother on the other hand is climbing the walls as his ex is pulling out every false trick possible to ensure he can’t see his kids just so she ‘can win’. I would be beside myself if my ex decided I could not see my daughter again and the fact a stupid ruling in family law so it is ok for a mother to make that decision makes me furious!!

I am a father who has splitt up from my abusive partner who has mental health issues, we have three sons whom i adore and have bought up and been there all of their lives , i was her sole carer but her mental health issues just got to much for me to cope with. It was the most difficult decision of my life to leave the family home after being advised to do so. As my children were born pre dec 2003 and we were not married i have no perental responsibility, my ex partner has been alienating me from our children and telling the children lies about me, which is turning our children against me, but all i can do is let her carry on abusing the children in this way, using them as porns in her sick game, the law needs to be changed to allow fathers equal rights over their children, all i have done is to love and protect our children but the law is allowing a mother with mental health issues to abuse her maternal rights.

I know a father who is only able to see his children three times a year for three hours. It sounds inhuman for the parent and the child . Please change this law. Children need to see their fathers! And I as a single mother with a child who has never seen his father as his father has gone- I hear my son asking for a father a new father. Children need it. Balance- mum and dad even if they aren’t together. One parent is not more important than the other.
